Rewarded Labour

{Psalm 126+127}
It's about setting captives free. About seeing a broken vessel spring forth with life in such a remarkable manner that not a soul around them can deny it. It's about seeing a harvest ripen and gathering it in after days and weeks of seemingly fruitless toil.

Yet, without the arm of the Almighty, every effort—valiant though it may be—is in vain. It's pointless. No, it's dangerous. But with the arm of the Lord on our side not the smallest sincere effort will be made in vain. And true, we may not see any fruit today, but indeed we shall.

Their hearts are young. I am faulty. But clinging to the arm of my Father and drawing on His almighty power, we shall raise up something more beautiful than any field of ripening rice.

Their work is just as back-breaking as mine is heart-wrenching.

But we are seeing fruit.

Psalms 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
