Because He Promised

No light is visible.
The layer of darkness is more than air--its as hard and heavy as stone.
No better way of existence has ever been experienced before.
Why should one of such insignificant strength even attempt to break through to something better?

The answer is simple. God planted in it the desire--the need--to live in light. And He didn't leave it helpless to get there. Through death--and only through death--it takes hold of the Power that knows no limits or rivals. And though it may appear weak in comparison to the opposing powers, it will not lose. By steady, firm persistence it breaks through each layer of resistance.

And there is an end. Those days of "blood, sweat, and tears" will break forth at last into glorious light.

Friend, you may not see the light today. But He is faithful who promised. You need not wait another day. Give Him your life, and He will give you life.

  1. Just what I needed today, Hannah!
"God planted in it the desire--the need--to live in light..."

  2. Thank you Hannah, for sharing these encouraging, beautiful thoughts... just what I needed to hear! :) Makes me think of this verse: "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known" 1 Corinthians 13:12
