I was reading in the book of Proverbs and I came across a familiar verse but this time it meant more to me than it has before. It was Proverbs 18:24: "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." There have been times, which I am sure we all face, that I have felt kind of alone in my struggles. Most of the time I did my best to keep other people from seeing them and I never really talked about them. But then I realized that I wasn't really allowing the Lord to help me either. Later in family worship we read this quote: " It is God's plan that human agencies shall have the high honor of acting as co-workers with Jesus Christ in the salvation of souls. The word of God plainly reveals that it is the privilege of the instrument in this great work to realize that there is One at his right hand ready to aid him in every sincere endeavor to reach the highest moral and spiritual excellence in the Master's work." (5T, pg. 573) Christ wants to be more than just our Saviour; He wants to be our constant companion.
